At what depth is a dive considered deep? This is a relative concept according to many.... it is a matter of perspective? Logic? Experience? Skills? Certification level?

An open water diver, an advanced diver, and a trimix technical scuba diver consider deep diving to be a different depth. Deep diving with air or with mixed gases? The answer is clearly with mixed gases. But this was determined by the technological, and other, capabilities of each era.

My generation, when we were starting to satisfy our primal need to go deep, deeper each time, only had air available as a breathing mixture. In this article, let's look at some basic elements of deep diving.
