Diving excursions to destinations like the Red Sea - Egypt, Deep South, just before Sudan at the magical Marsa Alam in southern Egypt with its magnificently unique underwater world and good company of friends are undoubtedly the quintessence of life. Blue waters, sun, corals and relaxation.
MAY 2004 - MARSAALAM
Many hours of lonely driving! Exotic names of small towns traveled with me, Port Suez, Zafarana, Ras Gharib, El Gouna, Hurgada, Safaga, El Quesir. These areas are full of coral reefs. My Egyptian friends Karim, Wessam, and Ahmed have definitely suggested that I go south to the virgin Marsa Alam area, where the "exploitation" of diving tourism was just approaching. From the well-kept tropical treasures ...... Years later, in 2004 I am organizing another excursion for HUE students and friends.
Hellas Underwater Explorers are active successfully in dive business for many years since 1995 offering training programs for Recreational but mainly for Technical Diving certifying divers & Instructors. Every year we were participating in the annual dive shows in Greece.
For about 15 years Hellas Underwater Explorers - George Petrou first participated in the "Fishing - Hunting - Diving" exhibition and then at NATEX organized by Mr. Varveris AKMON Media publisher of Vythos, Greek Diver magazines etc. ...
for Greece & Cyprus
HUE / George Petrou were honored to represent Divex (Swedish) regulators for Greece and Cyprus.
Divex, Swedish-owned by Lars Ljungqvist. The Divex 950,960 and 970 were the latest models of the company.
The best diving regulator I have used in my diving career. Upstream, superb flow, perfectly harmonious, balanced, especially deep, in high current conditions and at minimum cylinder pressure. My deepest dive with Divex regulators were 180 meters in red Sea, Egypt.

Photos: Vassilis Vlachopoulos, George Petrou & from internet We sailed from Tzitzifies with “Kolovouti”, the sailboat of our friend Vasilis Vlachopoulos, heading for the blue horizon driven by a perfect breeze.
A perfect wind led us to the island of Dorousa for a dive in the famous wreck of Avantis III.

One of the special forms of Technical Diving is lake diving which have their own particularities such as fresh water, low temperature, altitude etc.
It is a different challenge in exploring and gaining experience.
Hellas Underwater Explorers / George Petrou have once again organized their annual New Year's Eve party in downtown Chalandri.
The room was full of fun, food, dancing and singing. Diving equipment and training were drawn in a lottery, gifts won by those present.
Peloponissos, Greece 2 March 2012
We dived (everyone depending on his certification level) in the cave system of the Dragon in the Peloponnese.
A long cave system ideal for experienced caverns.
His exploration is not complete. It requires many missions, organization and equipment.
